Baanbrekende eighties postpunk/new wave band
De legendarische Engelse band Sisters Of Mercy heeft sinds de oprichting in 1980 slechts drie albums uitgebracht, maar dat zijn wel allemaal klassiekers geworden: First And Last And Always (1985), Floodland (1987) en Vision Thing (1990). Met duistere wavenummers als More, Temple Of Love en This Corrosion leverde de band een aantal stevige pijlers van de gothicrock die ook anno 2026 nog niets van hun kracht hebben verloren. De formatie heeft veel bezettingswisselingen gekend, maar aan het hoofd staan nog steeds oprichter Andrew Eldritch en zijn trouwe drumcomputer Doktor Avalanche!
