De Jamaicaanse zangeres Patra (aka The original queen of dancehall) brak in 1993 door met haar debuutalbum Queen Of The Pack, waarop ze dancehall combineerde met r&b, hiphop en pop. De singles Worker Man, Think (About It) en Romantic Call kwamen hoog in de Amerikaanse dance-lijsten en haar tweede album Scent Of Attraction (1995) leverde met een cover van Grace Jones’ Pull Up To The Bumper opnieuw een hit op. Na een lange pauze is deze pionier van de rauwe, vrouwelijke dancehall terug: dit jaar verschenen op het JHOUSE-label van producer Freddy Browne twee nieuwe tracks!
